What universities in Canada offer mortuary or forensic science?
I’ve tried searching google for universities in Canada that offer courses and degrees in mortuary science, or forensic science, since I would like to be a mortician or an embalmer. But I haven’t had any luck so far. Does anyone know of any universities in the country that offer such courses? Or where I might have better luck searching for universities that offer them?

Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario has a forensic department and you can major in forensics there. I majored in Biomedical bio in LU for 4 years, so I know for sure that forensics is offered there. But I’m not sure of any other universities in Canada that would offer that. You’re best bet would be to just manually search for Canadian universities and visit their websites. There you can find contact info and ask them directly, or just search through their sites yourself.

Just a heads up – an author of a YA or Adult book receives 10% royalties and if you write with someone else you split that in half (so a $10.00 book sold gives you $1.00 return so 1000 books have to be sold for your publisher to get $10,000.00 and for you to get $1000.00 of that divided by two for both of you). It is not easy collaborating with someone else and you have to make sure that the book is in "one voice". If you take turns writing it or one writes a passage that both like and it fits between what the other has written it will be obvious to the reader and difficult to read as it will feel disjointed.

Why not write the book yourself and join a writer’s group – that way you’ll get the best of both worlds; the support and full royalties.

well i have a website called gamesrme.com and im using awardspace.com as my publishing guy and im usually working on it but the minute i get up to go do something for five minutes it automatically logs me out and erases all the work ive done and makes me go all the way to the spot where i was working in after i have to type in my password again which is like one of those 84jc83o32 passwords and then to get to the part where i was working it takes about 100 clicks and loading takes forever so if you could help me ill be really grateful.

Other than that, you can probably access it using FTP to transfer your files without having to be logged in constantly. I like using WinSCP for this, but some people like CuteFTP. They are both free. There should be instructions on AwardSpace regarding accessing your files this way. All hosts that I’ve come across have this option.

A 27 yr old kid in our small community has been thieving since his early teenage years while his parents, the law, and courts just keep turning him loose because everyone knows everyone around here. The guy down the road has been burglarized twice and caught the kid this last time inside his garage gathering tools to pawn in another town. He blew him straight to hell in a hand basket, dug a hole as deep as his backhoe would reach, and tossed him in. I see no reason to say anything about witnessing this since it’s long past due that someone did something to stop the crime wave this punk has been creating on hard working country folks. Even the local cops have said they aren’t interested in knowing what happened to him and as far as they are concerned he just left town and crime has ceased around here and it’s best left that way. They’ve also let it be known that if anyone does know what happened to him, it would be best all around to keep it to yourself. I know that our small town cops practice logic and friendship much more than the letter of the law because it just works better and we don’t have the problems that city folks do but I also know that it only takes one idiot to stir up a hornets nest. Anyway, if there are any law enforcement people on here that can give me some solid advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

Because reporting such incident not only jeopardizing the life of the person but also his or her family. That is why in a very important crime or case, most witnesses are place in WPP or witness protection program. Because the government including the police agency cannot compel a witness to expose what she or he saw in the commission of a crime. That is why other non-government agency are giving money for people to come out of the open and reveal the truth. Because money has the motivation for the person to reveal what he or she knows about the crime.

Condescending Jobs-worth boss and 'anal' backstabbing co-workers.?
OK i’ll try and keep this short.

In short i have been out of the military for a year now, where I have project managed 10 people on a few electrical projects and the like. Now have taken a job on the railways. However the past year has been a rollercoaster of experience good and bad. I started off with one department and found that to be very bitchy and clicky. I tried to fit in, but learning the job was difficult when people won’t tell you the information or where to find it. I tolerated this behavour for 6 months trying to be patient, kind etc… ‘biding my time…’.

Then i changed to another Department. after i got fed up of this behavour. All was going fine, until the my boss got promoted (same boss just he has a different title and salary). and now has spent the past 3 months being a condesending little W***r (he is in his early 30’s).

I have enjoyed my time here until 3 months ago. The problem is the boss i have is always chasing for his full promotion (he’s assistant manager, looking for full manager, now the vacancy is empty). He watches his back so carefully, always wanting things written down etc.. He’ll ask favours but never really give them in return; when he does you have to be ‘ticked off’ in a mental ‘favours book’ in his head. If you refuse overtime etc… He officiously tells you OK, gets all lordy and then ask someone else; reminding you that don’t ask him for overtime in future (even though he has clearly stated no overtime, we only get it if he’s in a fix!)

He micro-manages the smallest thing. He’s always, always on about health and safety. He can never give a straight answer to any question regarding what might affect you. Any sense of acheivement you have from doign a job is quicky removed with a critial reveiw of : ‘why didn’t you do this’ or ‘why has it took this long’, ’so and so would have done it like this’, ‘is there a training issue’, ‘You need to be more proactive’ etc… it just seems any amount of work you do for this thankless B****rd is never enough. Also he questions everything you do, and never backs you up EVER!!! Unless its for his own face gain. I’m not the only person this is happening too though…

Then there is the 2 coworkers, his number 2’s. (I work as part of a 4 man rotating shift team, one of us on at a time). Who complain and bitch about his analness behind his back, how bad a boss he is etc… but then behind the back of the guy you have replaced shifts as soon as he is gone they slag him off. One of these Number 2’s has his eye on a management position and althought a nice guy i don’t trust him (I worked alongside him since the start of my time, until 3 months ago). He tries to ring me off shift when he drives home, for infornmation and a gossip. I have taken to turning my phone off (I luckily changed contract so have given a PAYG number as my ‘Real’ phone). As i don’t want to hear about work.

I have held out for 3 months. I am getting more snappy and irritable at home. I suffer from depression anyways. but this really isn’t helping. I’m losing all faith in my abilities! As i feel i may be actually clueless in my trade afterall… Help!!
I forgot to mention, that he lords it up over all 6 of us. and any ‘grammatiacl errors’ in speaking or writing, he’s quick to correct you in front of co-workers. making you feel liek a complete cretin! I have had this 1st hand. Also have seen him do it to others. its unreal! I thought the military were bad!
Andy W. I have a feeling deep down you might be right, but i’d like to do a job where i’m not having to learn and be made tofeel a T**t for not knowing stuff. that i’m supposed to guess at.

Think i might take the gamble an try set up on my own.

You could leave and hope to find somewhere better or you can stay and put up with it.

The likelyhood is that if you leave and find another job then the situation will be similar.

As ex military (signals) myself albeit it from a fair time ago, I can tell you that you will encounter this sort of thing on a regular basis.

You either have to put up with it or get out.

My brother went through something similar and he’d worked at the place for 10+yrs until it ‘changed’ and he had only one person to cope with, but that’s all it takes. In the end he got another job (similar work, different employer and area) and he’s been much happier.

I would suggest if you can change jobs then do so as you’ve got too much of a fight on your hands there. If you’re ex-military you could try something completely different work wise like Military Fitness – definitely the right time of year to do it. Else try other sites like Jobcentre and Monster and get the hell out of there!

Are most of Knotts Berry Farm Rides strong?
The last time I went to knotts berry farm was when I was 6 year old and I didn’t go to any heavy rides. And I’m going with my science class next 2 weeks and had no idea which one to go on to. And I’m just wondering if Silver Bullet/Ghost Rider/ Sierra Side Winder/ etc….are Scary. Well not scaryy but like will it leave a sore body after going on it? My sis had went to the Xcelerator and GhostRider and had a pain in her neck for 2 months..But had no idea which ride it was..SO im just wondering..Will i feel like puking after any of those rides? I’m 13 btw xD

Ummmm…sometimes you do get pain from it, but usually if you go to any amusement park you have pain. Ghost Rider gives you pain because it shakes ALOT. So it jerks your head. And Xcelerator, it takes of REALLY fast… so it may have given your sister nack pain because she didnt put her haed back like the guy said to do. But all the rides are worth the pain and none of the rides are scary. So have fun while your there. Say hi to Snoopy for me!
